1. Go to the Apple --&gt; Preferences --&gt; Accounts
2. Choose your account
3. Select &quot;Login Items&quot;

You&#039;ll see a list of applications and can add to them. Just click the plus symbol and go find the Things application to add it!

Thanks for your write up on Things.  I use it as well and like to research how other people use it to see if there are more efficient ways to use it.  For example, I see that you somehow got it to automatically open when you start your computer.  I just looked for this options in preferences and did not see it.  How did you do it?
